Meet Our Pastor...Rev. Nancy J. Horvath-Zurn    

            

Rev. Nancy J. Horvath-Zurn answered Healing Spirit's call and became our pastor in August, 2004.

Rev. Horvath-Zurn  attended Bethel College in St. Paul, graduating with a BA in Psychology with Focus in Social Work. After some years in the work force, she became a Student Clergy at All God's Children MCC and graduated from United Theological Seminary with her Masters of Divinity.  While at United, she received the Lydia Myri Kapp Award for Outstanding Work in Preaching.  She was credentialed as a MCC pastor only two weeks following her graduation, and has received her Doctorate in Ministry from Phillips Theological Seminary in Tulsa, OK

Rev. Horvath-Zurn has pastored in several MCC churches including Wichita Falls MCC, MCC of Greater Tulsa, Family of Faith MCC, and Joie de Vivre MCC. She has also written many workshops and studies dealing with the Bible and Homosexuality, Conflict Management, Leadership Training, and Women Survivors of Childhood Sexual Abuse.

Early in 2006, Rev. Horvath-Zurn authored The Eight Essentials for a Healthy andThriving Congregation 
This exciting, new eight-week small group study was designed to help congregations (and individuals) think through the basics of relationship, leadership, generosity, and other tenets central to a balanced and healthy life with each other. 

She lives with her partner, Barbara, and their son, Zach.
