The Shack

A Six-Week Lent Study Group

The Shack by William P.

Young is a story about Mack,

a man whose daughter is

kidnapped and brutally

murdered. A few years after

her murder, Mack receives

an invitation from God to

meet Him at the shack

where they found his

daughter's bloody clothes.

Mack goes and works

through the meaning of

suffering as he spends the

weekend with the Trinity.

Our Spring Yard Sale will be May 1st.
Let's start putting things aside for it today!

Healing Spirit church is taking part in a very important project in the Rochester area. We are one of at least 21 other local churches who have made the committment to literally "build community"! This summer the Rochester Area Habitat for Humanity is sponsoring a 'Faith Build' here in Rochester.  A local family in need of housing has been identified and they agree to put in 'sweat equitity' as churches come together to help them build thier new home. The lot has been purchased and plans are being drawn-up. Healing Spirit is in this project for the long haul and together we can build community and really put our faith into ACTION! There will be need for those skilled with hammers, saws, and paint brushes as well as with refreshment supply (for those who are not of the hammer pounding type!) But right now money needs to be raised for this worthwhile community building event!

On Saturday April 10th at the Rochester Athletic Club there will be stationary biking event to raise money for the 60th Habitat for Humanity home to be built in our area. Healing Spirit is committed to this fund raising event and we need your help! I am serving as captain of Healing Spirit's Rainbow Riders. Each team will have 6 riders and each of us will ride a stationary bike for 15 minutes! (we can do it!!) Each rider is asked to raise $200.00 -that is $1200.00 for our team. There are t-shirts for participants and other prizes and goodies too. It will be a fun event and for a good cause. The team session will be from 1:00-2:30 pm. Right now the Rainbow Riders are in need of a few more riders...please consider joining our team and putting faith into motion! And if you are unable to ride-plan on coming to the RAC on April 10th to cheer the Rainbow Riders on!
Please contact Stevi ASAP if you are able to join our team!
